PROUD MEMBERS OF THE AAL

 — A new era of professional sports is beginning in Deep East Texas. The Texas Desperados are proud to announce their membership in the AAL, marking an important step toward bringing professional arena football to Lufkin, Texas and the surrounding East Texas community. For the Desperados, this is about much more than putting a football team on the field. It is about building something that Lufkin and all of East Texas can call their own — a professional organization that represents the toughness, pride, work ethic and passion that define this region. Professional Football, Built in East Texas Arena football delivers a different kind of experience.

The field is smaller, the action is faster, the scoring can happen at any moment, and fans are much closer to the game. The Texas Desperados plan to bring that energy directly to Lufkin, creating an atmosphere where families, football fans and the community can experience professional football close to home. Joining the AAL provides the Desperados with the opportunity to compete against professional organizations from other markets while representing Lufkin and East Texas on a larger stage. But wins and losses will only be one part of the mission.

The Desperados organization is being built around community involvement, local partnerships and creating opportunities for athletes to continue pursuing football at the professional level. The goal is to establish a team that local businesses are proud to support, young athletes can look up to and fans are proud to represent. A Team That Belongs to the Community From the beginning, the vision for the Texas Desperados has been to create more than a game-day product. The organization wants the Desperados name to become part of the East Texas community through youth involvement, appearances, partnerships with local organizations, special theme nights and opportunities to bring families together. When the Desperados take the field, they won’t simply be playing in Lufkin. They’ll be playing for Lufkin. Every player who puts on the Desperados jersey will have the opportunity to represent a community known for supporting its own and taking tremendous pride in East Texas.

The Beginning of Something Bigger Becoming proud members of the AAL represents another major milestone as the organization prepares for professional arena football in Lufkin. In the months ahead, fans can expect additional announcements surrounding the 2027 season, player signings, coaching personnel, partnerships, sponsorship opportunities, merchandise, community events and game-day information. For longtime football fans and families looking for something new to experience together, the message from the Texas Desperados is simple: Professional football is coming to Lufkin. East Texas, this is your team. This is your city. This is your home field. And this is only the beginning.
